R&D and Public Implementation Plan for "Cost Reductions for Offshore Wind Power Generation" Projects

legislation type Executive
Passed in 2021

It defines how the Green Innovation Fund can be used to achieve a power generation cost of 8 to 9 yen/kWh with fixed-bottom wind turbines and technology to commercialise floating offshore wind turbines at internationally competitive cost levels. The plan supports the development of technology for wind turbines, floating structures, etc. and support demonstrations based on integrated designs for equipment such as wind turbines, floating structures and cables, that will be suitable for the meteorological and marine conditions in Asia.
