This Strategy operates on the premise that social and gender equality is necessary and essential for human development and becomes more pressing in the context of climate change, particularly in developing countries which are especially vulnerable to the adverse effects of climate change.
It sets out the institutional framework for gender equality and climate change response, sets out the strategy and process for integrating gender into the National Policy for Climate Change, and finishes with recommendations - one of them being the implementation of a 2025 Gender Action Plan.
