This Act is an extensive piece of legislation dealing with budget and spending at the federal level. An increased tax credit for carbon capture projects is set up in Title II on miscellaneous provisions, SEC. 41119 on enhancement of carbon dioxide sequestration credit and SEC. 45 Q on credit for carbon oxide sequestration. This credit concerns traditional CCS, direct air capture and carbon monoxide capture.

The 2023 federal budget contains a wide range of climate-focused and climate-related clauses.
