Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting

legislation type Executive
Regulation/Rules
Passed in
The introduction of the Streamlined Energy and Carbon reporting scheme in 2019 coincided with the end of the Carbon Reduction Commitment Energy Efficiency Scheme. The scheme makes it mandatory for all 'large' companies with a turn over of £36 million or more, a balance sheet of £18 million or more, or 250 employees or more to report on energy use and greenhouse gas emissions in their Directors' report or Strategic Report.

The scheme was introduced through The Companies (Directors Report) and Limited Liability Partnerships (Energy and Carbon Report) Regulations 2018, passed under the Companies Act 2006 and the Limited Liability Partnerships Act 2000.
