The National Climate Change Policy, Strategy and Action Plan sets the government's vision on how to tackle mitigation and adaptation actions over the period 2014-2021. It sets the official line to adopt on climate change, exposes the country's weaknesses to address in priority, and defines sectoral strategies accordingly.
 
Specific measures that the document establishes include promoting energy efficiency in the housing sector, develop renewable energy production and use, enhance land use management with respect to carbon sinks, increase the share of biofuels to 30 per cent by 2025 in the transport sector, develop comprehensive national research to design adequate mitigation and adaptation policies, and upgrade the institutional and legal framework according to sustainable development goals.
