Seychelles Wetlands Policy and Action Plan 2019-2022

legislation type Executive
Policy
Passed in 2019
The Seychelles National Wetland Conservation and Management Policy was first developed in 2005 to address and reverse their degradation. This new policy acknowledges that wetlands are essential for sustainable development. It identifies tools available and attempts to draw the multi-sectorial assets together under a single policy as associated action plan.

The action plan, provides the framework for policy implementation, and captures existing programmes of work, sets ambitious targets and grasps new opportunities such as the involvement and leadership of civil society to manage local resources of national importance.
