The Seychelles Sustainable Development Strategy (SSDS) 2012-2020 is a national instrument which incorporates national priorities for sustainable development and lays out a roadmap for the implementation of those priorities. The Strategy aims at contributing to the realisation of the nation's economic, social and cultural potential through an innovative, knowledge-led approach, while being mindful of the need to conserve the integrity of the Seychelles natural environment and heritage for present and future generations. The Strategy notably insists on the importance to foster adaptation efforts and investments in renewable energy. Resources needed for such goals, as well as protecting biodiversity, are estimated.
