Papua New Guinea
National REDD+ Strategy 2017-2027 (NEC decision 126/2017)
The strategy is a key part of the country's response to climate change and of the Green Growth Development agenda as per the National Strategy for Responsible and Sustainable Development. The NRS aims to strengthen sustainability of Papua New Guinea's forest while helping to improve land use planning and management to ensure forests and environments are protected. The ultimate aim is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reduce the vulnerability of communities to climate change.
