Passed in 2015
This law sets the legal framework for energy in Montenegro. It notably seeks to increase the share of renewable energy sources in the national mix and of high-efficiency cogeneration. Art. 151 grants a grid access priority to renewable energy projects.

The 2020 amending law notably supports the build up of renewable energy capacity from commercial purposes and self-consumption.
