Long-term National Transport Strategy (2016-2030)

Jordan's Long Term Strategy for the Transport sector is a comprehensive document setting short term goals for 2024 and long term goals for 2030. The actions to achieve these goals target policies/regulation, infrastructure development and provision of services, and they cover the following categories within the transport sector: Road, Railways, Civil aviation, Port and maritime, Public transport, and Freight transport and logistics. The Strategy identifies a detailed implementation plan for each of these sub-sectors, including different phases of development and required budgets. In the long term, the Strategy aims to promote and adopt energy efficient and sustainable forms of transport, such as hybrid or electric vehicles. Among other things, the environmental criteria for monitoring implementation is to asses the reduction of CO2 emissions from the transport sector in the long term.
