Jordan 2025: A National Vision and Strategy

Jordan's National Vision and Strategy for 2025 is a detailed plan charting the socio-economic development objectives for the country.  Sustainablility through Green Growth (in Agriculture, Energy, Tourism, Transport, Waste and Water sectors) and climate change mitigation are an underlying theme of the Strategy. They inform specific targets for afforestation, energy and resource management and the environment sector. 


  • Increase in forest area from 905.5 thousand acres in 2014, to 917.3 in 2017, 927.1 in 2021 and finally 939.3 by 2025

  • Increase in percentage of the contribution of renewable energy in the energy mix form 1.5% in 2014, to 4% in 2017, to 7% in 2021 and finally 11% by 2025.
