The 5th Strategic Energy Plan details the government's vision to 2030 and 2050 in order to enforce the Basic Act on Energy Policy. 

The Plan notably defines an increased role of renewables in the medium and long terms, and determines the nuclear policy post Fukushima. The Outlook sets out the optimal combination of energy sources for 2030.
