Disaster Countermeasures Basic Act

This law describes the overall framework for disaster prevention, response, and recovery in Japan. It establishes and defines the roles of disaster prevention councils at the national, subnational, and local levels. Importantly, this law also requires that each council and publicly owned corporations create and implement disaster prevention plan.
