Grenada Vision 2030
Further to the publication of the Grenada National Energy Policy (2011), the 'Grenada Vision 2030' lays down the proposal to establish a 100% renewable energy target for both the electricity and transport sectors for 2030. As a first step to determining the pathway towards this objective, a 100% renewable energy showcase study is to be conducted in co-operation with the German government and a consortium of specialised companies.
The Grenada Vision 2030 consists of four major projects, three focused on development of utility scale generation from geothermal, wind and waste-to-energy sources, and one on distributed solar. They are expected to require relatively little capital investment, given the small size of the economy and energy demand.
