Action Plan

Passed in 2018

This plan follows the creation of the European Battery Alliance and was released by the EU Commission as an annex to a Communication titled "Europe on the move: Sustainable Mobility for Europe: safe, connected and clean". It identifies the development and production of batteries as "a strategic imperative for Europe in the context of energy transition." It promotes a "cross-border and integrated European approach covering the whole value chain of the batteries ecosystem, and focusing on sustainability". The plan targets the transport industry as a key sector in need of getting EU-produced batteries.
