Passed in 1997
In order to involve citizens in the effort to save energy, an ambitious national energy education initiative was put into place by the Ministry of Education. Its objective is to teach students, workers, families and communities about energy-saving measures and renewable sources of energy. In schools, the energy theme is to be present in different disciplines such as physics, economics and environmental courses. PAEME has also held energy festivals, educating especially the Cuba's youth about energy efficiency and conservation.
