The Climate Action Plan of Ministry of Environment provides a strategic orientation for the Ministry's departments and other institutions to tackle climate change issue and constitutes an important tool for mobilizing domestic and external resources and funds to implement climate change interventions.
The plan establishes the following main actions: 1) to promote climate resilience through improving food, water and energy security; 2) to reduce sectoral, regional, gender vulnerability and health risks to climate change impacts; 3) to ensure climate resilience of critical ecosystems, biodiversity, protected areas and cultural heritage sites; 4) to promote low-carbon planning and technologies to support sustainable development; 5) to improve capacities, knowledge and awareness for climate change responses; 6) to promote adaptive social protection and participatory approach in reducing loss and damage due to climate change; 7) to strengthen institutions and coordination frameworks for national climate change responses; 8) to strengthen collaboration and active participation in regional and global climate change processes.
