Decree 10.275 establishing the Technical Committee for the Low Carbon Industry
Art 2 states that the Committee is responsible for:
I - guide the implementation, monitoring, evaluation and review of policies that promote the transition to a low carbon economy in the industrial sector;
II - to help ("subsidiar") the formulation of the Brazilian position in negotiations of multilateral agreements, in matters related to the industrial sector, especially in relation to impacts on productivity and competitiveness;
III - contribute to public policies and private initiatives to promote the Sustainable Development Goals;
IV - propose actions necessary for the implementation of measurement, reporting and verification systems for greenhouse gas emissions from industrial enterprises; and
V - identify and propose the elaboration of studies to help ("subsidiar") the implementation of public policies aimed at promoting the transition to a low carbon economy.
The decree further defines the Committee's composition and functioning.
