Side B: United Airlines, TAAG Linhas A̩reas de Angola, Delta Airlines, Cia. Mexicana, Emirates Airlines, Aerolineas Argentinas, South African Airways (Corporation)

Core objectives: Seeking reforestation to offset the emission of greenhouse gases and other pollutants

Summary
The Public Prosecutor of Sao Paulo brought a group of several cases seeking to compel airlines that make use of the region's international airport to offset their emissions. The court is expected to consolidate the cases against the various defendants: United Airlines, TAAG Linhas Aéreas de Angola, Delta Airlines, Cia. Mexicana, Emirates Airlines, Aerolineas Argentinas, and South African Airways. The means of offset requested was support for reforestation in the region. The court of first instance rejected the suits against several of the airlines on the grounds that it lacked jurisdiction over the claims. Following several further appeals, the case reached the Federal Court of Appeal in 2015. In October 2016 it was sent back to the lower federal court for further hearing.
