The Strategy aims to develop a sustainable energy system while implementing the EU requirements. One of the key policy objectives is to stabilize energy consumption in Austria at 2005 levels by 2020. The Strategy defines three strategic pillars: increasing energy efficiency, promoting and intensifying renewable energy, guaranteeing energy supply for the long term
