Law on Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy

This law seeks to define and implement government policies for energy efficiency and renewable energy, in order to strengthen Armenia's economic development and energy independence, enhance the reliability of the power system, create new industries and reduce greenhouse gases and other harmful substances emissions. The document stipulates that electricity produced from renewable sources should be purchased by the distribution company under a tariff scheme. The Armenian Fund for Renewable Energy and Energy Saving is in charge of these issues.
